Field Museum and Climate Change Discussion

Greetings high school aged young women in the Chicago, Philadelphia, DC, and Baltimore area!
You're invited to virtual STEM Day hosted by the Field Museum! You'll have a chance to hear directly from featured speakers from the Keller Science Action Center about journeys into a STEM career and engage in an important discussion about climate change. There will be time for Q&A at the end, so get your brains thinking ahead to what questions you might want to have answered!

Ylanda Wilhite, Senior Partnership Coordinator, Keller Science Action Center
Ylanda will share about her journey to a STEM career and answer questions from the attendees.
Climate Change Discussion - Windy City and The World (1 hour)
Mario Longoni, Urban Anthropology Manager, Keller Science Action Center
Windy City and The World explores understanding climate change globally and locally in Chicago. Mario will lead a discussion around climate change and will begin with a whole group dialogue, then will transition to 2-3 small group breakout sessions with attendees (using Zoom rooms) for more personal discussions about their neighborhoods and experiences. The program will conclude with a share out session facilitated by Mario.
This event takes place from 4:30 - 6:00pm CST / 5:30 - 7:00pm EST. A Zoom link to the event will be sent via email after registering for the event below.
Participants must be young women in 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade or a STEM Academy alumna.
Participants must have computer and internet access and be interested in fully participating in the Zoom session by sharing video.
Participants must be located in one of the following areas:
- ComEd service territory of Illinois (Chicago and most of northern Illinois)
- PECO service territory of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia and its PA suburbs)
- Pepco service territory of DC and Maryland (DC, Prince George's County, Montgomery County)
- BGE service territory of Maryland (Baltimore City, Ann Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Howard Counties)
Registration is limited. Register by November 16th so we know who to expect in attendance and can plan discussions accordingly.
