Exelon STEM Academy Virtual Science - Zapping My Energy Use: Energy Efficiency at Home
Calling all high school aged students in the Chicago, Philadelphia, DC, and Baltimore area!
Ever wonder how you use energy in your home and how you can reduce that usage? In this interactive, hands-on session participants will learn how to measure the energy they use at home and strategies for reducing energy. You’ll receive tools to measure your energy use including a Kilowatt Meter to measure electricity usage of your pluggable devices. Learn how to read an electric bill and how to calculate cost savings.
Who Should Attend?
Young people in the following locations that are currently in high school are welcome to register.
- Washington DC
- Maryland
- Delaware
- Pennsylvania: In the PECO service area of Philadelphia and its PA suburbs
- New Jersey: In the Atlantic City Electric service area of southern New Jersey
- Illinois: In the ComEd service area of northern Illinois
Participants must be students in 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade or a STEM Academy alumnae.
Participants must have computer and internet access and be interested in fully participating in the Zoom session by sharing video.
