Learn how to tailor your resume for specific roles in STEM and energy fields\, effectively communicate your strengths\, and stand out! \nWho Should Attend?\nYoung people in the following locations that are currently in high school are welcome to register. \n\nWashington DC\nMaryland\nDelaware\nPennsylvania: In the PECO service area of Philadelphia and its PA suburbs\nNew Jersey: In the Atlantic City Electric service area of southern New Jersey\nIllinois: In the ComEd service area of northern Illinois\n\nParticipants must be students in 9th\, 10th\, 11th\, or 12th grade or a STEM Academy alumnae. \nParticipants must have computer and internet access and be interested in fully participating in the Zoom session by sharing video. \n****\nBy registering for this event you commit to attend live\, at the time of the event. If you can no longer attend\, please let Evelina Juarez (ejuarez@need.org) know 24 hours before the event. Repeat no-shows will not be able to register for future events or offered staff opportunities. No-shows at events take resources away from other STEM Academy offerings.

SUMMARY:Friends of the Chicago River Exploration Day - In-Person STEM Day
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an exciting and educational in-person STEM day with Friends of the Chicago River at LaBagh Woods! \n\nLocated at: 5275 N. Cicero Ave.\, north of W. Foster Ave.\, Chicago\, IL.\n\nParticipants will have the opportunity to take part in several hands-on activity rotations: \n\nRiver water chemistry testing using water quality monitoring test kits and probes to assess the water quality of the Chicago River\nMacroinvertebrate (small\, backboneless organisms living in the water) collection and identification to determine the quality of the river\nA stewardship litter pick-up activity to improve the LaBagh Woods natural area\n\nJoin us and give back to the community while learning more about environmentalism\, stewardship\, and the Chicago River ecosystem. No previous experience required!  \nLunch and refreshments will be provided. \nBe sure to wear closed-toed shoes\, long pants\, and work clothes that can get dirty. Tie your hair back -or wear a hat and bring a full water bottle. Ticks can be a concern when working in brushy areas\, so long pants and sleeves are encouraged. If you have work/garden gloves\, please bring those as well to help us limit the number of single-use gloves we use. \n———————————————————————– \nPlease note: You will be asked to complete and submit a waiver upon confirmation. \n———————————————————————–
